Suzuki Sidekick overturning?

Question: I’ve heard of all the reports of the Suzuki Samarai overturning and would like to know about it’s big sister, the Sidekick. Does it have a similar reputation?
The Sidekick has the same warning on the inside of the door that the Samarai has, but is that just to protect Suzuki?
Also, a Suzuki Sidekick and the Geo Tracker are essentially the same vehicle and yet I’ve never heard anything about the Tracker overturning.
Would the four-door Sidekick offer considerably more stability?

The answer is that all of these vehicles as well and any other vehicle with a higher center of gravity will be more susceptible to turnovers. If you take one of these vehicles and expect it to turn like a sportscar you are in for a rather unpleasant suprise! I have had a Sidekick for close to 2 years after driving a ‘87 Supra and it certainly is a change but the vehicle is quite stable though I must admit the amount of lean was a little unnerving at first. If you have proper driving habits there should be no problem (slow down before the turn). I’m also interested in the answer to this question. My wife is very interested in the Sidekick, but I don’t want to pursue it unless it’s a safe vehicle. I’d also like to hear what owners think about it. There’s got to be some catch – It’s priced fairly low for a 4WD. The only other 4WD’s we’ve seen in the same price range are Subarus. Thanks in advance for any info! Any car will overturn if you push it to hard. That said, we have had a sidekick for 2 years now and have been quite happy with it. Check consumers report for their rating. It wasn’t to bad actually. It is a little small so if you plan to take lots of stuf and 4 people better plan on getting the roof rack or a small trailer. Works well for us and our 2 little ones, does get crowded with the dog though.
