Question: The most recent issue of Consumer’s Digest has an article about the 93 models. They mention that the Integra is going to be redesigned for ‘93, becoming rounder and less angular. Of course they said the same thing about every car manufacturer so it sounds like they didn’t have anything to say at all.
I’d be surprised if the Integra was redesigned next year. The current model is a 1990, and it seems to me that most Japanese models go in 5 year cycles (the current Supra being one exception). Perhaps a mild facelift might be in order, but they just gave it one of those as well. Is CD talking out of it’s butt?
And speaking of the Supra, CD also said that the new Supra (due in Spring) will be lighter and will inherit the “185 HP, V6″ from the Lexus SC300. This is a surprise since the SC300 has an inline 6 that produces 225 HP and if anything, was itself inherited from the Supra (- perhaps… don’t know that for a fact.)
They also mention a Cobra version of the Mustang, a hotrod F150, Yugo going out of business, and the new Camaro-birds inheriting the engine from the Corvette, including the 6-speed gearbox.

I saw a spy photo on public television (MotorWeek) of the new Supra. Japanese insect eye (a la new MX3/MX6), Prelude/Jaguar tail, and *heavier*, not lighter. Power is supposed to be from twin turbo 6 (can’t remember the configuration) producing close to 300 hp.
