Question: my 1988 supra turbo only has 20k miles on it, and some very unhappy tires: the tread is almost gone in the middle of my good year eagles 225/50 VR 16. before spending some major bucks on new ones, can anyone reccomend a better performance/value tire. i drive the car pretty hard, but would like some tires that last over 20k miles.

Answer: If your tires are worn in the middle and still have plenty (or some) tread left on the edges you didn’t wear the tires because you drove hard but because you had 10+ psi too much in those tires! Check your tire pressure and make sure its right. More people ruin their tires because of incorrect pressure than any other way. I check mine at least once a month.
