Actually I usually leave these threads alone (ya right) but the DZ 302 in a 67-69 Z-28 lived quite happily at 9000 rpms
and could turn 10k rpms with [...]

Z28 nomenclature origin?

I’ve seen 67 Z’s and they had no stripes….   Maybe the one you saw had them added later.

I agree with Trace, I’ve seen “real” 67 Z’s and NONE of them have had the stripes on them.
But out of the 602 actual 67 Z-28’s made I have problbly seen 800 of them!! Everybody and their brother [...]

Hmm, in the 1969 DZ-302’s it was rated (under rated) at 290 HP but I seem to remember the 67-68’s being *slightly* different in ratings. Like 280 or something like that. 295hp? Maybe I’m wrong.
