Question: I got behind one the other day and it scared my kid, those big round red lights staring back at you looks like some freaky monster. Who the Hell released that design. They should be fired. Hey, it was a good try. Granted, it follows the new trend of >ugly-but-distinctive taillights, but FWIW, it’s better than the new Monte >Carlo by a long shot, and no worse than the new Maxima.

Answer: When I first saw the car I thought to myself, my goodness what has GM done to this car! Then over time It grew on me and Now I’m just waiting for school to end to be able to get my hands on the wheel and buy it!
i think GM went for shock value in the design of both the Impala and the Monte Carlo, much like Ford Did a few years back with the Taurus. Several people complain that GM and Ford are lagging behind Chrysler when it comes to fresh new designs. The new GM line up is trying to get rid of that image. So far I think they have succeeded with the Olds line up and the Chevy line up. So, the “Impala is ugly” thread arrives once again.. Well, like I said before, that’s your opinion.. The opinion of the masses seems much better, since the plant where they are produced can’t keep up with demand, and in some areas there is a several month wait for a new Impala..
