Mustangs are really unreliable! I can’t believe it!

Question: Man, I always thought that domestic autos were kind of reliable but not as reliable as Hondas. I always figured that Ford Mustangs were relatively reliable… that is until I went to alldata.com. I was there to check on some TSBs on my integra, when I saw the list I almost went into shock! So, I figured I’d go check out the Mustang’s report. I almost had a heart-attack looking at the list. I mean, how can a car company let a car like this roll off of the assembly line????? It’s rediculous. And to think I almost thought the mustang wasn’t that bad of a car.
Oh well, so much for that respect (VERY LITTLE RESPECT) I had for Ford!
O.K……so why were you looking for TSBs on Mustangs?
Just becuase there is a TSB out does not mean there is a defect in the vehicle….ie: Maybe there’s a greater variance in quality in a given model year for domestics…
When I sold my ‘88 Mustang GT last year, it was running strong with 130,000 miles on the original engine and tranny (including clutch). Though driven hard, it was well maintained. The only non-scheduled maintenance required was a new head gasket, fuel pump and water pump. I would call that particular Mustang reliable.
