Corvette vs Supra vs Mustang vs M3 – Stats dont lie

Question: LOL, fords are for rednecks thats about it. There junk, and they suck. It > takes a 5.7ltr gas guzzling v8 that STILL cant match the performance of a > 3.0 liter twin turbo v6 or better yet the 2.6ltr twin turbo nissan skyline > v6. The corvette engine is an excellent engine I admit that, but fords are > just junk, youd think by now theyd at least be able to keep up with a > corvette. Id like to see any mustang win against this 1100 HP no nitrous > 300ZX TT I saw race a few months back, ran the quater mile in 7.5 seconds. > Ive never seen a mustang without nitrous come close to that. Hell, i kept up > with a mustang GT in my 90 240SX 4 cylinder, I only have to laugh when I > think of that, big old v8 mustang with a 150HP 4 cylinder on its ass, > hahahahahaha…
And do you know how much money it takes to make a 300ZX do 1100HP. A lot more than it takes to make a mustang do 1100HP. If you’ve never seen a non nitrous mustang run that fast [or a nitrous mustang run faster] you’ve never seen a real mustang drag car. For every 1100HP 300ZX TT, there are at least 100 or more 1000+HP Mustangs. Oh yeah, guess what else, a 3.0L turbo V6 gets pretty shit ass gas mileage too. 600cubic inches or 100cubic inches, it takes the same amount of gasoline to make a given amount of HP. [300+HP V8 camaros can get 24+mpg highway, BTW] Oh yeah, V6 twin turbo anything = $45k+ [Skyline is way more] V8 mustang = $22k of course the TT V6 is faster, it’s more expensive, it better damn well be faster for 2x the price. Give a guy 45k to spend on a mustang and it’ll spank a TT V6 anyday. Here’s something you’ll never seen in a V6 TT car. Mustang/Camaro/Dodge + 600 cubic inch motor = 900HP on 93 octane pump gas [that's right baby, on the street, something a 3.0L motor can NEVER DO without $4/gallon race gas. It would require breaking the laws of physics.]. add dual Holley Dominator 1250s, now we’re probably around 1500HP, on pump gas [seen it myself in person]. add a BIGASS blower and some race gas. Now we’re _easily_ over 2000HP, probably 2500. NOW we add some nitrous, lets say, oh, a 1000HP shot. So we’re somewhere around 3000-4000HP or so, and running in the 6s. [world's fastest street car is a BIG BIG block Chevy, runs real low 6s {maybe faster since I last checked} it's street legal].
BTW, I doubt that 300zx really ran 7.5 I think that number’s fake. To run 7.5 on 1100HP requires a car around 2000lbs. Maybe 7.5 in the EIGHTH mile with bad traction problems, which the 300ZX would have unless they replaced the back end with a 4link or something.
It’s cool if you like the 300zx and don’t care for Mustangs. But don’t go bashing to try and make it look better. I wish I had a 300zx, but big V8s always have been and always will be faster for less. More cubes per lb in ANYTHING, import or domestic equal more potential for speed [guess what would happen if you did the same stuff as that 1100HP 300zx, to a 4.5L V8 Q45, more HP]
I don’t know much about the Mustang or Supra, but I do know that on a recent 12-hour trip that a bunch of us DSM (Talon, Eclipse) drivers took, that the 500hp modified 11sec cars got the same gas milage as the stock, 210hp 15sec cars. That is, about 27mpg. This is because at highway speeds, the turbocharger doesn’t kick in much, and doesn’t use any extra fuel. Of course, they used extra fuel at the dragstrip… and they also did the quarter mile kinda quick..
Maybe the Supra TT is diffirent, but I would think any turbocharged car would get the same gas milage, unless it had it’s engine bored out.. The suzuiki hayabusa is legal here, (and almost as fast as an indy car). The REAL king of speed gets it’s 9.8 1/4 mile times with a STOCK price of $10,000.
