460 in a ’stang

Question: has anyone put a 460 in a mustang? > i have an 86 LX hatchback and was wondering if there were any > modifications necessary besides the drivetrain/trans/and rear end > thanks
Answer: Yes, I just sold my 1967 Mustang G.T. fastback with a 460 Cobra Jet (460 with 429 CJ heads) – awesome, real pink bowtie eater. Ran 113 mph in 1/4, only 12’s because I din’t have slicks ready (Hoosier Quik Times – useless).
Sounds like you are looking to do this to late model Mustang (or relatively late model). I’ve seen a few 460’s in ‘79 – ‘93 Mustangs, so I know it can’t be too heavy in the fabrication department.
Good luck, I hope you fit that mill under the bonnet. Then when someone walks past your car looking for another 5.0L, what a surprise …
