Question: The Maverick however, as the front end goes is related >to the early Mustang and Falcon, not the pinto/mustang ii. >The granada/monarch/versailles is a streched mav.

Answer: I think it would be more correct to say the Maverick was a shortened Falcon (the original Falcon, not the Torinio Falcon). The first Granadas and Monarchs were just Falcon’s with new sheet metal. If the engine bay on your Torino is the same as the 66-67 Fairlane, then I can help here. The Hooker Competition (Not Super Comps) headers work, but have an interference with the tie-rod on the driver’s side, when you are under acceleration. This prevents you from turning to the left, which in most cases, is a bad thing.
Just recently, I saw an ad in Super Ford for some Tri-Y headers to fit the FE/66-67 Fairlane. I THINK it was a company in the Northwest called Dark Horse Performance, 206-227-7778. Now, if anything’s going to fit well, a set of tri-y’s will.
I would also recommend getting in touch with Auto Krafters in Virginia. These guys are experts in Fairlanes and Torinos. 504-896-5910
As far as the heads are concerned, don’t worry about which pattern you have. I am using the 8 bolt 427 LR heads on my car, and the header bolts fit. It’s very close, but it does fit without modification of the shock towers.

Are the automatic headers really any different than the manual ones? I don’t know which Hookers I have, but one of the previous posters mentioned it was a tight fit with the C6, and he’s right!
