Whats with an original $32,000 sticker price for a 1997 f-150?
filed in 1997 Ford F150
Question: Two years ago a friend of mine bought a 1997 Ford F150 truck. The truck was used and he bought it with 6,000 miles. The unusual thing about it was the original sticker price of $32,000. I have seen the paper work from the first buyer and it seems to match up. (I did not check the VIN) Try as I might I can not figure out why the price was so high. I have only seen one other truck like this one and I will describe it and maybe someone can give an idea.
The truck is a 2 wheel drive extended cab step side and is solid silver. It has pin striping and Ford written in fancy script across the tailgate. It has 4 silver exhaust pipes coming out the back next to the trailer hitch. It has a deep rumble when running.
The interior is nothing special with cloth power bucket seats and a fancy radio with CD changer ETC.
The motor seems to be just a regular V8. Everything else seems to be stock!
I can find absolutely nothing that would make it list for $32,000. In fact everything seems to indicate a regular $25,000 to $26,000 truck. Am I missing something here? I see no “Signature” and nothing that says “Lightening” or anything else. Where did the additional $6,000 dollars come from?
Answer: perhaps this is the NASCAR edition? What size are the tires? Is it the Lariat package? The exhaust you described makes no sense to me, I’ve never heard of it to tell you the truth… hmm…good mystery you’ve got going there
. My first guess is Canadian
