Question: I have times whenever I am stopped at a job site in my truck and turn the ignition switch to ACC and would like to leave the door open but the chime rings constantly. Is there a way to disconnect/disable it? Thanks

on the older fords, if you open the plastic access covers on the steering column and then pull off the wire running from the ignition lock cylinder->wiring harness the key in ignition buzzer is disabled. Or if you don’t care about the seat belt buzzer and headlight reminder, just remove the chime box under the dash that makes the sound. I have a solution that might be perfect. What if it only chimed for about 15-20 seconds and then shutdown? Just build a circuit based on a 555 timer and a simple relay. You pick the stuff up at Radio Shack for under $20.00.
