Question: I recently purchased a 1996 4×4 Ford F150. I had only driven it about 500 miles when a terrible creaking/clunking sound developed from the front-end. I took it in to the dealer and was informed that Ford had issued a service bulletin on this problem. Later that day when I came to pick it up, they mentioned something about alignment shims and tightening some bolts. But, they said, the problem might come back. Well it did. I took it in again and they informed me that maybe Ford just didn’t know how to fix the problem. Well apparently they have no clue. On the drive home from the second fix, the creaking came back. The question is, what do I have to do to get this problem fixed permanently? And how do I deal with Ford service department to make sure that I don’t have to go back 50 more times?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
