Question: I have a 1990 ford F150 which has a laminating paint problem on the hood (basically the colorized coat of paint is peeling off, leaving the grey undercoat).
I called the ford service # for this vehicle and was told that its not under warrantee so they can’t (won’t) fix this manufacturing defect. So I’d like to talk to someone else a little higher up in the ford corperation and see why they can’t remedy this problem.
Specifically I’m looking for numbers for: The Boston District office (the number in the owners manual has been changed which makes me wonder…) The customer service department in Detroit The upper management of ford corp.

Try govnmnt safety recalls etc at 1-800-424-9393,,sorry i dont have FORD number at hand…Many MFRs have hidden wrntys etc on vehicles and i hope yours is covered somehow… I see this kind of posting so often that it makes me kind of mad. Especially since I had my own problems with Ford wiring self-destructing, a problem that Ford had a recall for in its smaller cars, because they were catching fire. But it never bothered to recall the wiring in large cars like my Crown Victorias, because they didn’t catch fire. You might try calling some of the folks with lots of experience fixing botched Ford paint…maybe Doug Profitt at Coastal Chemical Supply at (315)454-0080, or Doug Mann at Auto Service Supply at (201)729-7815. You may also want to speak with John P. King, Manager, Service Engineering Office, Ford Parts and Service Division, 3000 Schaefer Rd, Dearborn, MI. The phone operators will give you a good start in getting in touch with Mr King. He signs all the recall notices. Finally you may want to talk to the folks at the Job One Program,1-800-322-JOB1.
