How do I transfer a 302v8 with a c4 automatic into a Ford Ranger out of a 1966 Bronco?

my uncle has a 1987 ford ranger 4×4 with a 2.9l.he would like to put 302v8 with a c4 automatic and transfer in it out of a 1966 bronco.would this work? does it require a lot of modifying? anybody know of any good books that deals with this swap? ive been told that you have to cut the front crossmember to clear the oil pan.thanks for any help that you can give.

Try the info at James Duff. Lot’s of stuff for the Ranger, Bronco and Baby Bronco ( II for those who care) It would be easier to install a small block chevy. However, DAMN THAT AN UGLY TRUCK;0) If you don’t smog, yep. I know a guy with an ‘86. Quick ride, you’ll be pleased with it except for your underhood access will be miserable and you’re still stuck with an ugly Ranger body.
