Monte Carlo

Question: I am looking into buying a used Monte Carlo. Does anyone have any specs or advice on what to look for in the car? V6, V8? 305, 350? handling? good year, bad year? model? anything at all will be helpful. Please email me at > >>ken…@rpi.edu
> >Good years: 1970-1971. > > Bad years: 1972-1987. > ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ – one exception. 76 Monte. The Perfect > Enduro/Indestructomobile. About 2 feet between the radiator and > grill. 8*>.
The 70 – 72 body style was the same way. The engine sits a little farther back (actually the front end sticks out farther) than most cars. That is why you see them on all the small town dirt tracks.
BTW every once in a while I see an ad for a ‘69 Monte. Did Chev make a few before 1970??? Or are these “1969″ Montes really 1970 models bought by somebody in 1969??? (Like Mr. Roper on Three’s Company putting an ad in the paper for his 1958 Chev… He bought it in 1957 and put the ad in the paper saying it was a ‘57)
