Question:

I never see much chatter about the early 70’s Z28’s. The 1970, with the split bumper and the round parking lights was always one of my favorites.

Were they junk or were they a good generation?

Bottom line….asking a newbie question, is the 1970 worth finding and/or restoring?

Answer:

The split bumper and round parking lights were part of the Rally Sport package, although it could be combined with the Z28 option. The 1970 Z28 is the most desireable of the second generation and well worth restoring.  The 70 Z28 is one of the most desirable Camaros ever built (along with the first gen cars.) The problem with them is there are not enough of them to go around. If you are lucky enough to find one that you can afford, I suggest you grab it as fast as you can.
